In this paper, strategies will be sorted into four separate categories, explained, and concluded with physical education specifically in mind. The categories include social strategies, goal-oriented strategies, differentiated lesson strategies, and all-inclusive strategies. While these strategies can work when used independently, using several strategies from each category will be more effective than only focusing on one category at a time when serving an ELL student.

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower” (Heijer 2018). Creating a classroom environment that supports everyone equally will only be obtainable when our education content includes culturally responsive teaching, unfiltered history, and critical thinking of socialization. I believe including these topics will help fight class oppression, sex oppression, racism, and the social norms we have been born and bred into.
